400-408(1:09) Hillary Clinton opens SNL.
(:30) Hillary Clinton's "Red Phone" ad.  "It's 3:00 a.m., and your children are safe and asleep.  But there's a phone in the White House and it's ringing. Something's happening in the world. Your vote will decide who answers that call.  Whether it's someone who already knows the world's leaders, knows the military, someone tested and ready to lead in a dangerous world. It's 3:00 a.m., and your children are safe and asleep.  Who do you want answering the phone?"  "I'm Hillary Clinton and I approve this message."
413-423A vote for Barack Obama is a vote for gay marriage though he doesn't like to call the equal rights for same-sex unions "marriage."  Are you one of those Christians that are into those 23 "obscure" books of the New Testament that follow the four Gospels and begin with the Book of Acts?
(:17) Barack, at Hocking College in Nelsonville, Ohio, on Sunday, "If people find that controversial then I would just refer them to the Sermon on the Mount, which I think is, in my mind, for my faith, more central than an obscure passage in Romans."
(:52) Barack, "I will tell you that I don't believe in gay marriage, but I do think that people who are gay and lesbian should be treated with dignity and respect and that the state should not discriminate against them.  So, I believe in civil unions that allow a same-sex couple to visit each other in a hospital or transfer property to each other.  I don't think it should be called marriage, but I think that it is a legal right that they should have that is recognized by the state. If people find that controversial then I would just refer them to the Sermon on the Mount, which I think is, in my mind, for my faith, more central than an obscure passage in Romans. That's my view."
(:17) Barack, "I think women, in consultation with their pastors, and their doctors, and their family, are in a better position to make these decisions than some bureaucrat in Washington.  That's my view.  Again, I respect people who may disagree, but I certainly don't think it makes me less Christian."
As your President, I will use the bully pulpit to urge states to treat same-sex couples with full
equality in their family and adoption laws. I personally believe that civil unions represent the best
way to secure that equal treatment. But I also believe that the federal government should not
stand in the way of states that want to decide on their own how best to pursue equality for gay and
lesbian couples — whether that means a domestic partnership, a civil union, or a civil marriage.
Unlike Senator Clinton, I support the complete repeal of the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA)
– a position I have held since before arriving in the U.S. Senate. While some say we should repeal
only part of the law, I believe we should get rid of that statute altogether. Federal law should not
discriminate in any way against gay and lesbian couples, which is precisely what DOMA does. I
have also called for us to repeal Don't Ask, Don't Tell, and I have worked to improve the Uniting
American Families Act so we can afford same-sex couples the same rights and obligations as
married couples in our immigration system.
428-437Is a vote for Barack Obama a vote for abortion and same-sex marriage?  Were slave owning Christians any less "Christian?"  If you support abortion, even partial birth abortion, and are against notifying parents their minor children are seeking an abortion, does that make you any less a Christian?  Are you one of those Christians that are into those 23 "obscure" books of the New Testament that follow the four Gospels and begin with the Book of Acts?

On March 7, 2000, the people of California passed Prop 22, "The Defense of Marriage Act," by a margin of 61.4/38.6%.  It said simply, "Only marriage between a man and a woman is valid or recognized in California."  Prop 22 won 52 of 58 counties, including every major metropolitan areas except San Francisco.  The six counties which did not pass Prop. 22 were all in the greater Bay area:  Alameda, Marin, San Francisco, Santa Cruz, Sonoma, and Yolo.
