400-408 Robert S. Martin, III did two combat tours in Iraq as a Staff Sgt. in the Marine Corp, and he invites patriotic golfers to come on out for the Troops Cup Celebrity Golf Tournament at the beautiful Woodland Hills Country Club on Monday, July 12th.  Today Robert is an actor and stunt man, an expert in mixed martial arts fighting.  For more info on the golf, go to iraqstar.org, or call Maggie at (310) 245-6775.  Iraq Star helps those veterans with injuries get excellent medical attention above and beyond that which the VA provides, often with the doctors, surgeons, hospitals, and clinic providing their services pro-bono.

528-538Philip Jenkins, Professor of History and Religious Studies at Penn State University, and author of many books, including The Lost History Of Christianity and his latest Jesus Wars.  I always learn something fascinating from this guy!  For example:  Did you know Christianity was in Sri Lanka before Ireland?  That a Chinese monk visited Western Europe and was surprised to find Christians like himself?  That Armenia and Ethiopia were Christian states before Rome?  That missionaries to Africa, who thought they were bringing the gospel to virgin territory, were often met with the message "Welcome Back!"?  That today's "Muslim World" was once "The Christian World"?

644-652What "second chance" opportunity has the Lord given you?  A chance to do something that you let slip by the first time, but He gave you another opportunity?  What happened the second time around?  The best one I've heard lately has to do with pastor Steve Wilburn bumping into Larry King – twice! – at different coffee shops!  This was a few weeks before Steve planted The Core (corechurchla.org) a few weeks ago, located near the corner of Overland and Washington, right across the street from Sony Studios.
