• Merced Sun-Star (6/13/09) El Capitan scaled using just arms.  Maj. Phil Packer of the British Royal Military Police made the ascent up El Capitan, on the north side of Yosemite Valley, a 3,593-foot wall of granite, in just 4 days, doing the equivalent of 4,200 pull ups, because he had lost the use of his legs in Iraq.  He's also run the London marathon on crutches, rowed across the English Channel and sky-dived with the Red Devils.  He's raised almost $2 million for Help for Heroes, a charity for disabled veterans.  Watch the video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jNP7Tj5LBYI.
