Today we're doing something very cool in more ways than one.  We're helping out our fighting servicemen and women in Iraq and Afghanistan, by giving them exactly what they've asked for.
Imagine what it's like to be thousands of miles away from home, away from your family and friends, halfway around the world, where your life is on the line every minute of every hour of every day.  Our soldiers go through not only physical attacks, but emotional and spiritual challenges that are really tough too.
The forecast for Baghdad the next three days is a high of 120, and imagine carrying 25 to 50 pounds of gear or body armor around in that heat!
We can help our men and women be a little more comfortable in that heat by sending them gift packs filled with the specific things they've asked for:  plenty of Gatorade, sun block, lip balm, insect repellant, disposable wipies, foot powder, CDs, beef jerky, candy, personal fans, and all with a personalized note from you and your family directly to them – all through Move America Forward.
Each gift pack is $25, so send 2 for $50, 4 for $100, or even 10 for $250.  Do an entire squad of 5 or 10 so there's no jealousy!  The number to support the troops, to say a big "Thank You!" and to be their inspiration and encouragement, is 1-800-710-11-31.
And, you can also give through Cars For Causes at (800) 766-2273, just tell them "Move America Forward."

(:56) A Gold Star mom reads a letter from her son Patrick, one that was be opened only if he were killed in action.  "I'm writing you this letter because something went wrong.  But, it was time.  I just want you to know I tried to do the right thing.  I came here to help people who couldn't help the situation they were subject to.  Maybe someday they will be able to enjoy freedom as we do.  As for me, it has been an honor to be able to experience that freedom.  It was an honor to fight and die with an American flag on my shoulder.  "Honor," that's a big word and some people don't know what it means.  It's not something that happens right away.  It's something that builds inside your soul.  I have never been prouder to do anything in my life, than to be a United States Army Calvary Scout.  Until we meet again, my heart, soul, and love are with you all.  Don't ever forget.  Love, your son, Patrick."
(:47) A Gold Star mom talks about her son Justin who was killed in Iraq.  "Justin was part of the First Cav Unit out of Ft. Hood, Texas, and he was killed in Sadr City in April of 2004.  He was a gunner on a Humvee, and they were, and they hit an IED and the shrapnel killed him.  When I took him to the airport when he came home to bring his stuff home before he shipped, ah, it was like, something told me, that when I said goodbye to him, that would be the end of it.  That I would not see him alive again.  I have another son that is actually serving, and I have a husband in Iraq right now, so we definitely support our Commander in Chief, and we support the war, and we want to see the people of Iraq have the freedoms we have here in the United States."
