• Joel Rosenberg (9/26/2012) EXCLUSIVE: AHMADINEJAD'S END TIMES SPEECH TO THE U.N.: Gives most detailed explanation of Twelfth Imam to date; tells UN leaders Mahdi will "soon" reign over world.

Mr. President, Friends and Dear Colleagues,

Creating peace and lasting security with decent life for all, although a  great and a historic mission can be accomplished. The Almighty God has not left us alone in this mission and has said that it will surely happen. If it doesn't,  then it will be contradictory to his wisdom.

– God Almighty has promised us a man of kindness, a man who loves people and  loves absolute justice, a man who is a perfect human being and is named Imam  A1-Mahdi, a man who will come in the company of Jesus Christ  (PBUH) and the righteous. By using the inherent potential of all the worthy men and women  of all nations and I repeat, the inherent potential of "all the worthy men and  women of all nations" he will lead humanity into achieving its glorious and  eternal ideals.

– The arrival of the Ultimate Savior will mark a new beginning, a rebirth and a resurrection. It will be the beginning of peace, lasting security and genuine  life.

– His arrival will be the end of oppression, immorality, poverty, discrimination and the beginning of justice, love and empathy.

– He will come and he will cut through ignorance, superstition, prejudice by opening the gates of science and knowledge. He will establish a world brimful of prudence and he will prepare the ground for the collective, active and  constructive participation of all in the global management.

– He will come to grant kindness, hope, freedom and dignity to all humanity as a girl.

– He will come so mankind will taste the pleasure of being human and being in the company of other humans.

– He will come so that hands will be joined, hearts will be filled with love  and thoughts will be purified to be at service of security, welfare and happiness for all.

– He will come to return all children of Adam irrespective of their skin colors to their innate origin after a long history of separation and division  linking them to eternal happiness.

– The arrival of the Ultimate Savior, Jesus Christ and the Righteous will bring about an eternally bright future for mankind, not by force or waging wars  but through thought awakening and developing kindness in everyone. Their arrival  will breathe a new life in the cold and frozen body of the world. He will bless  humanity with a spring that puts an end to our winter of ignorance, poverty and  war with the tidings of a season of blooming.

– Now we can sense the sweet scent and the soulful breeze of the spring, a spring that has just begun and doesn't belong to a specific race, ethnicity, nation or a region, a spring that will soon reach all the territories in Asia,  Europe, Africa and the US.

– He will be the spring of all the justice-seekers, freedom-lovers and the followers of heavenly prophets. He will be the spring of humanity and the  greenery of all ages.

– Let us join hands and clear the way for his eventual arrival with empathy and cooperation, in harmony and unity. Let us march on this path to salvation  for the thirsty souls of humanity to taste immortal joy and grace.

458-508 – Joe Kissack, former senior executive for Sony Pictures and successful Hollywood executive, and now author of his first book – coming out tomorrow – The Fourth Fisherman: How Three Mexican Fishermen Who Came Back from the Dead Changed My Life and Saved My Marriage (Amazon) (thefourthfisherman.com).  Joe lives in Atlanta with Carmen, his wife of twenty-six years, and their two daughters.

About The Story –

We each came to a moment of brokenness; what we found there was God. And he was enough.

It was the subject of headlines around the world: Three Mexican fishermen in a small open boat without any supplies, drifting for more than nine months and 5500 miles across the Pacific Ocean. Through blistering sun and threatening storms, they battle starvation, dehydration, hopelessness, and death. Their lifelines? An unwavering faith and a tattered Bible.

Thousands of miles away, Joe Kissack, a successful Hollywood executive, personified the American dream. He enjoyed the trappings of the good life: a mini mansion, sports cars, and more. He had it made. Yet the intense pressure of his driven and high-powered career sends him into a downward spiral, driving him deep into suicidal depression, insidious addictions, and alienation from his family.  His lifelines?  A friend and a Bible on the table between them.

Thoughtfully told with candor and humor, Kissack weaves together the incredible true voyage of fishermen adrift in the sea and his own life's journey as a man lost in the world. It is a story that will buoy your spirit and renew your hope and faith.

628-639 – (:31) Romney Debate – "I'm sorry, Jim, I'm going to stop the subsidy to PBS … I like PBS, I love Big Bird, I actually like you, too," Romney said to debate moderator and former anchor of the PBS "NewsHour" Jim Lehrer, "but I'm not going to keep on spending money on things to borrow money from China to pay for."

• Jim Geraghty (NRO, 10/09/2012) U.S. Taxpayers Support Sesame Street… the Pakistani One.  Only 15% of PBS funding comes from taxpayers, but taxpayers still gave PBS $445 million last year.  Maybe PBS can learn to get by on 85% of their budget?  Oh, and we also agreed to pay the Pakistani version of Sesame Street $20M over four years, but when "fraud and abuse" were discovered, we cancelled the agreement, but not after we had paid them $7M.

UPDATE: Sesame Workshop: "[We are] a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization and we do not endorse candidates or participate in political campaigns. We have approved no campaign ads, and as is our general practice, have requested that the ad be taken down."

• John Nolte (Breitbart, 10/09/2012) POLITICO, NBC, ABC, MSNBC CRITICIZE TEAM OBAMA'S 'ABSURD' BIG BIRD AD.  The Romney campaign released a devastating graphic that shows that since his debate debacle, Barack Obama has mention Big Bird and Elmo 13 times but has not mentioned Libya or his plan to fix the economy even once.

ABC's Rick Klein seems confused by the desperate smallness of itTeam Obama makes a play using … Big Bird? The new Obama campaign ad uses a mock-serious tone to jump on Mitt Romney's most famous debate line. It's all in good fun, but the contrast may not be what President Obama is after, not now, not in this race. Romney is getting more serious by the day, with a foreign-policy speech and now Paul Ryan about to make the case for conservative fiscal policies. Romney marches toward Benghazi, while the president marches down Sesame Street?

MSNBC's Chuck Todd criticized the ad: "When is the Obama campaign going to stop talking about the debate? … They cannot seem to turn the page from the debate. ... Any conversation about that debate, I assume, helps Mitt Romney."

• The Blaze (10/09/2012) HAVE YOU SEEN OBAMA'S NEW BOMBASTIC BIG BIRD AD? NO, REALLY (UPDATED)

// "For all you moms and kids out there, don't worry, somebody is finally getting tough on Big Bird. Elmo, you better make a run for it," President Obama told a crowd last Friday. "Gov. Romney is going to let Wall Street run wild again, but he's going to bring the hammer down on 'Sesame Street.'"  No, really. This is actually a campaign talking point.

// UPDATE II– Deputy White House Communications Director Jen Psaki on Tuesday told the press gaggle on Air Force One the Obama campaign would "review" Sesame Workshop's request [emphasis added]:

Reporter: I feel a little odd saying this, but I have two questions about Big Bird.  (Laughter.)  The first is that as you know, Sesame Street has asked for the ad to be pulled on the grounds that it's not a political organization and doesn't want to be drawn into this kind of debate.  Will the campaign honor it and pull down that ad?

Ms. Psaki:  We have received that request. We're reviewing it. I will say it doesn't change the fact that there's only one candidate in this race who is going to continue to fight for Big Bird and Elmo, and he is riding on this plane.

• Katie Pavlich (Townhall, 10/09/2012) Obama Campaign Responds to Big Bird Controversy with Ridiculous Statement.

Ridiculous times call for ridiculous statements from the Obama campaign. Campaign spokesperson Jen Psaki said on Air Force One this afternoon there was "grassroots outcry" about Big Bird and therefore the campaign decided to make the now infamous Big Bird ad.

"There's been a strong grassroots outcry over the attacks on Big Bird. This is something that mothers across the country are alarmed about, and you know, we're tapping into that," Psaki told reporters aboard Air Force One on Tuesday.

"The larger point... is, aside from our love for Big Bird and Elmo, as is evidenced by the last few days, the point that we're making here is that when Mitt Romney… was given the opportunity to lay out how he would address the deficit, when he said 'I will take a serious approach to it,' his first offering was to cut funding for Big Bird," Psaki said. "And that is absurd and hard to take seriously his specific plan."

Yes, you read that correctly. The Obama campaign is actually trying to paint Mitt Romney as unserious while they make an argument and have an ad based on Big Bird.

644-656 – (3X) • LA Times (10/09/2012) Kid Rock comes out for fellow hunter and rock fan Paul Ryan.

It's always a little jarring  to see a pop culture wild child, complete with rap sheet and sex tape, talking up civic responsibility.

But Monday night as Kid Rock introduced GOP vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan -- "a fellow hunter, a fellow fan of rock and roll" -- at Oakland University in suburban Detroit, he offered a slightly unexpected, mellow take on the election, at a moment when the political discourse is particularly poisonous.

The suburban Detroit-born rocker whose song "Born Free" has become Romney's anthem, wore his trademark hat, brim pulled low, and was down-to-earth as he spoke for roughly five minutes, first urging people to vote (no matter whom they support) and lauding the country's troops, whom he regularly entertains overseas in combat zones such as Iraq and Afghanistan.
