400-408 – Lara Scott, our KKLA evening hostess from 7pm-midnight, is right now down at the Hyatt Regency in Irvine for the Focus on the Family's "Feet on the Ground" event with President Jim Daly and Tom's Shoes founder Blake Mycoskie – the guy behind the worldwide "One for One" shoe giving movement.  The big event starts at 7pm, but before then, starting right now at 4pm, is something called "Style Your Soul" where people can be customizing their new pair of Tom's shoes while at the same time be helping a child in need somewhere in the world.  Also tonight, special music by Dove Award winning artist Brandon Heath.

413-423 – Calls – Is America ready to elect a female president?  Set aside the "who" aspect of this, just in general, are we ready?  Yes or No?  Is it sexist to say you won't vote for a female candidate, or is it just a preference?

428-438 – Jim Daly, President of Focus on the Family (family.org), heard weekdays here on KKLA at 4:30am, 7:30am, 11:30am, and 10:00pm.  Jim's latest book is entitled, Stronger: Trading Brokenness for Unbreakable Strength.

443-452 – Erwin and Scarlett Lizaola, join their daughter Adrianna, to give us an update on how the treatments are going up in Seattle.  We first talked to them back in March.  Adrianna, just 14, is fighting for her life in a battle against systemic sclerodoma – an auto-immune disease which thickens the membranes of her internal organs (heart, lungs, kidneys and digestive tract).  Erwin just quit his job in order to be in Seattle with the family.  Donate to help Adrianna right now by calling (866) 490-4673, and follow her progress on Facebook at facebook.com/givetofaith.

558-608 – (Lara Scott)  Dr. Scott Todd, Senior Ministry Advisor at Compassion International (compassion.com), talks about the 58 Initiative (live58.org), based on Isaiah 58.  Dr. Todd has a Ph.D. in immunology from the University of California, was a fellow in oncology at Stanford University, has been published in more than a dozen biomedical journals, and holds a patent for the treatment of Hepatitis C (bio).  He left his academic research in 2003 to join Compassion, and has spoken all over the world with the message that extreme global poverty can be eradicated in our lifetime.  He was recently featured in the provocative and stirring short film "The Poor Will Not Always Be with Us" (YouTube).  His new book coming out in September, which you can pre-order at Amazon, is called Fast Living: How the Church Will End Extreme Poverty.
