400-408 – Ryan Fleming, Associate Editor of the Online Magazine Digital Trends (digitaltrends.com), talks about how easy it is for kids to spend real money in online games and apps.

• Fox News (12/10/2010) 4-Year-Old Goes on Shopping Spree -- on iPhone App.  "The Smurfs' Village" free app makes it easy for kids to spend real money on Smurfberries in the game – frustrating parents, and making lots of money for Capcom Entertainment.  Capcom is not alone.  6 of the 10 highest grossing apps in the App Store are games that are free to download but allow "in-app purchases," through your iTunes account on your Apple devices like computes, iPads and iPhones.  Your iTunes password is supposed to be expire after 15 minutes, so as to avoid children making inadvertent purchases.  But, lots of parents are claiming it's been hours later that their children bought Smurfberries to speed up game play, and being as young as 4 years old, they don't know it's costing mommy and daddy real money.  Capcom is not to blame for problems with the 15 minute log out mechanism, it's Apple's problem, and Apple has been great about issuing refunds for kids making inadvertent in-app purchases.

413-423 – What have you been surprised to learn your kids bought online?

Annie Lobert – Annie Lobert is an internationally known expert and advocate of ministry to men and women in the sex industry. She survived over 16 years (11 years escorting and 5 part-time) working as a prostitute and high-class escort in Hawaii, Minneapolis, and Las Vegas, which included catering exclusively to award winning actors, famous musicians and rock stars, national and local politicians, and professional athletes. And yet, Annie knows first hand the harmful affects that a life in the adult entertainment industry can have on a person. She speaks effectively with both secular and religious communities on these issues.  In 2005, Annie started reaching out to the women on the strip and in the casinos that were prostitutes. Then in 2006, she came up with a name that brought controversy on many levels called, "Hookers for Jesus." In January 2007, Annie was offered the opportunity to move ahead into full time ministry, because this was and is her heart's desire, to help people that are trapped in any way that she can. She has not looked back ever since.
