• Yahoo News (7/28/2010) Judge blocks parts of Arizona immigration law. U.S. District Judge Susan Bolton ruled today against the state of Arizona and for the Obama Administration in her decision to not allow three components of SB1070 to go into effect tomorrow. 1) Immigrants will not be required to carry papers at all times, 2) it will not be illegal for undocumented workers to solicit employment in public places, and 3) a law enforcement officer will not be allowed to "make a reasonable attempt to determine the immigration status of a person stopped, detained or arrested..." (quoted from the decision). Further, she essentially said that it is better to keep the status quo and let the courts handle it than to allow the enforcement of the new law only to have it later ruled unconstitutional.

458-508 – Dudley Rutherford, senior pastor of Shepherd of the Hills Church in Porter Ranch (theshepherd.org), heard Sunday mornings on KKLA at 9:00am. Today we talk about their recent "Holy Thunder Pastor Posse Harley Baptism" and his current "Faith & Doubt" sermon series.
528-538 – Anthony Bradley, Associate Professor of Theology and Ethics at The King's College in New York (tkc.edu), research fellow at the Acton Institute (acton.org), and author of Liberating Black Theology: The Bible and the Black Experience in America. You can contact him through his website dranthonybradley.com. Today, we talk about the crisis of the black family since the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960's. Instead of strengthening the family, it destroyed it – primarily through unintended consequences – basically, creating incentives to have children outside of marriage. In 1960, just 20% of black children were born out of wedlock. Today it's 75%. What can be done to reverse this, especially within the black church?
