400-408 Juli Slattery, clinical psychologist at Focus on the Family (family.org), and Adjunct Professor for Family Studies at the Focus on the Family Institute (focusinstitute.com), will be heard even more regularly on their Big Show.  And, she's the author of Beyond the Masquerade: Unveiling the Authentic You, and her latest is No More Headaches:  Enjoying Sex and Intimacy in Marriage.  Today we talk about her new role in light of the coming changes to the Focus radio broadcast, and how we can fulfill our New Year's Resolutions.  She offered three key points:  1) Set action goals, as opposed to results goals (e.g. seek to walk three times a week rather than lose 10 pounds);  2)  find an accountability partner to encourage one another; and 3) work most of all, toward having a "full" life, with your highest priorities attended to, not distracted by busy-ness.

428-437Kenny Luck, Founder and President of Everyman Ministries (everymanministries.com) and Men's Pastor at Saddleback (saddleback.com).  His latest book is Fight: Are You Willing To Pick A Fight With Evil?  Their men's group meets Thursday mornings from 6:30am to 7:30am at Saddleback.  And, later this month, on Saturday Jan. 30 (from 11:40 to 12:30), I'll be speaking on Apologetics at their Men's Leadership Conference down at the Calvary Chapel Murietta Conference Center.  For more info on the conference, go to saddlebackfamily.com/herd.  Today we talk about a recent podcast Kenny did regarding Tiger Woods (Download).  According to Kenny, "Tiger Woods is every man and every man Tiger Woods," and he explains why.  You know when you're "grown up," if:  1) you're internally, not externally, validated; 2) you can enter the lives of others without fear; 3) you're teachable; 4) you've got a sense of deep contentment; and 5) if you know a higher form of validation and acceptance.  Jesus was the fully-mature man.  Too many of us can't get into real relationships because we "indulge and increase in order to impress."

458-508 Ken Timmerman, contributing editor at newsmax.com, who runs the Foundation for Democracy in Iran (iran.org), and author of Shadow Warriors: The Untold Story of Traitors, Saboteurs, and the Party of Surrender, and his latest is a novel entitled Honor Killing about some Iranians smuggling a nuclear weapon into the United States (all available at (kentimmerman.com).  He'll be on CSPAN tomorrow morning (Jan. 6 at 8:30am).

528-538(:38) Brit Hume on Tiger (Fox News Sunday @ 1/3/2010) Hume encourages Tiger to find forgiveness and transformation in the Christian faith.  "Tiger Woods will recover as a golfer.  Whether he can recover as a person, I think, is a very open question, and it's a tragic situation with him.  I think he's lost his family.  It's not clear to me whether he'll be able to have a relationship with his children.  But the Tiger Woods that emerges, once the news value dies out of this scandal, the extent to which he can recover, seems to me, depends on his faith.  He's said to be a Buddhist.  I don't think that faith offer the kind of forgiveness and redemption that is offered by the Christian faith, so my message to Tiger would be, 'Tiger, turn your faith, turn to the Christian faith, and you can make a total recovery, and be a great example to the world.'"
