400-408 – Kevin Miller & David Rempel talk about their new movie Hellbound (hellboundthemovie.com) which explores different views of hell:  the traditional, annihilationism, and universalism.  Kevin is a graduate of Biola University, but has become a universalist (like Rob Bell, i.e., everyone eventually leaves hell for heaven because "love wins out.")  I'm sure Biola isn't too happy about this.

413-423 – Steve Wilburn, pastor of Core Church LA (corechurchla.org), will be one of our special guest pastors at Impact 2012.

• Gateway Pundit (9/29/2012) UN-Real… Obama UN Ambassador Rice Blew Off Netanyahu Speech Today Too (Video).  They spoke today by phone.

Barack Obama blew off Netanyahu this week. He refused to meet with the Israeli Prime Minister while he's visiting the US. He said he was too busy but took the afternoon off on Thursday according to his schedule. He's going to call Netanyahu between campaign stops today.

Meanwhile… Obama's ambassador to the UN Susan Rice also blew off Netanyahu's speech.
She went to lunch with Hillary and some other officials instead.

• Jerusalem Post (9/29/2012) Poll shows 65 percent of Jews support Obama.

// A new American Jewish Committee poll found 65 percent of Jews nationwide planning to vote for US President Barack Obama versus 24 percent for Mitt Romney, with another 10 percent undecided.

// According to the AJC's national survey, more members of liberal denominations and the unaffiliated tended to favor Obama. Reform Jews favored Obama over Romney 68 percent to 23 percent, Conservative Jews 64 percent to 23 percent, and those identifying themselves as "just Jewish" 68 percent to 19 percent. Orthodox Jews, by contrast, favor Romney 54 percent to 40 percent for Obama.

// Israel came in at a distant fourth among issues that respondents listed as "most important" to them, with 61.5 percent listing the economy, 16.1 percent listing health care, 4.7 percent listing abortion and 4.5 percent listing US-Israel relations.

// That preference persisted when respondents were asked what was their second-most-important issue, US-Israel relations named by 4.2 percent, and third-most-important issue, with Israel relations cited by 6.1 percent.

Here's the new MTA policy:  The advertisement, or any information contained in it, is directly adverse to the commercial or administrative interests of the MTA or is harmful to the morale of MTA employees or contains material the display of which the MTA reasonably foresees would incite or provoke violence or other immediate breach of the peace, and so harm, disrupt, or interfere with safe, efficient, and orderly transit operations.

Here's what the ad says:  "In any war between the civilized man and the savage, support the civilized man.  Support Israel.  Defeat Jihad.  Paid for by the American Freedom Defense Initiative.  Atlasshrugs.comSioaonline.comJihadwatch.com."

A large majority of likely voters believes all Americans should pay some federal income tax -- even if it is as little as one percent of what they make.

Seventy-nine percent say everyone should pay something, according to a Fox News poll released Thursday.  That includes 85 percent of Republicans, 83 percent of independents and 71 percent of Democrats.

458-508 – • Newsbusters (9/29/2012) Leno: 'We Wasted Four Years Waiting For Obama To Do Something About The Economy'.

(:27) Leno last night.  "I love how the politicians capitalize on this kind of thing. Like the minute the replacement refs were fired, President Obama said, 'See, sometimes losing jobs can be a good thing. It's a good thing.'  A new survey out today shows how much time we waste every day in our lives. For example, we waste seven minutes in line every time we go to get coffee, 28 minutes getting through airport security, four years waiting for Obama to do something about the economy. Every year, we waste a lot. We wasted a lot of time."

In an effort to inspire voters to re-elect President Obama, the Jewish Council for Education and Research released a new video yesterday called "Wake the F--- Up," starring Oscar-nominated actor Samuel L. Jackson. Inspired by the hit book "Go the F--- to Sleep" the video features Little Susie, a young girl who is worried about her family's passive attitude towards the upcoming election.

Jackson, as narrator, pops up in scenes between the girl and her sleepy parents, distracted siblings and mischievous grandparents, sending a message to all that, "we've come a long way but there's still more to do, and we need you all back in the fight 'til it's through…you can sleep when you're dead, it's time to wake the f—k up!" //

• NYT (9/28/2012) U.S. Move to Give Egypt $450 Million in Aid Meets Resistance.

The Obama administration notified Congress on Friday that it intends to give Egypt's new government an emergency cash infusion of $450 million, but the move immediately encountered resistance from lawmakers wary of foreign aid in general and of Egypt's new course under the leadership of the Muslim Brotherhood.

The aid is part of $1 billion in assistance that the Obama administration has pledged to Egypt to bolster its economy and its transition to democracy following the overthrow last year of Hosni Mubarak, the country's autocratic president.

Its fate, however, was clouded because of concerns over some of the new government's policies and its handling of anti-American protests two weeks ago that overwhelmed the American Embassy in Cairo. //
