400-408 – Attorney Lee Rittenburg, founded Traffic Defenders back in 1992 (trafficdefenders.com, (800) 210-7477), and since then has successfully defended thousands of people on speeding tickets, red light tickets, stop sign tickets, improper turning tickets, and has also represented folks at DMV hearings when they're getting their licenses suspended. Twenty years later, there's probably no attorney in California who has won more cases for drivers accused of traffic violations than Lee.

1990 was the year the idea of defending drivers on traffic tickets was born.

You see, Mr. Rittenburg got a speeding ticket when he was still in law school.  While waiting his turn, Mr. Rittenburg watched as motorist after motorist was branded "guilty."  He quickly became convinced that Traffic Court was designed primarily to find people "guilty" as efficiently as possible.  He was discouraged by the way common folks were herded like cattle on an assembly line in front of the Judge, and by how the Judge always seemed to believe the police officers.  He wondered where the presumption of innocence had gone.

Mr. Rittenburg not only beat his speeding ticket that day, but he resolved to make a difference after becoming an attorney knowing there must be others who felt the same way.

A New York bus monitor who was berated and bullied by a group of middle school students will not press charges against the four seventh-graders, police said Thursday.

Karen Klein, 68, is seen in a 10-minute viral video attempting to ignore the verbal attacks by students on a bus operated by the Greece Central School District, near Rochester, N.Y. Children on the bus hurl repeated insults and threats at the grandmother, calling her fat and at one point suggesting that her children commit suicide. Klein told "Fox & Friends" during an appearance Thursday that her eldest son did, in fact, take his life 10 years ago.

"I did not hear that part then, but yeah, it was uncalled for, that's for sure," Klein told host Steve Doocy.

Capt. Steve Chatterton of the Greece Police Department said Klein informed investigators that she will not seek criminal charges against the four students from Athena Middle School in Rochester. //

The Supreme Court announced Thursday its opinion in the Knox v. Service Employees International Union (SEIU) case, ruling that the First Amendment gives state employees the right to decline to pay dues used for political advocacy by the union.

More specifically, unions in California can no longer force non-union state workers to finance political campaigns. And now the legal precedent has been set.
