400-408 – Fuz Rana, EVP of Research and Apologetics at Reasons to Believe (reasons.org), has a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Ohio University with an emphasis in Bio-Chemistry.  Today we talk about the latest "scientists create life in a lab" stories in the news, and his latest book entitled Creating Life in the Lab: How New Discoveries in Synthetic Biology Make a Case for the Creator (Amazon).

• Today, we start by talking about some of the recent alleged evidence for ape-to-human evolution – namely, the Red Deer Cave People and the Neanderthals.  They covered this on their podcast "Science Newsflash" back in March when the story first broke.   Historical note – Charles Darwin (1809–1882) published Descent of Man in 1871, with Chapter One entitled "The Evidence of the Descent of Man from some Lower Form."

• CNN (3/15/2012) 'Red Deer Cave' people, possibly a new human species?

• Natalie Wolchover (Live Science, 6/5/2012) Why Humans Prevailed.

413-423 – Fuz Rana,  Are the popular renderings of what these "ape men" looked like based on good science, or largely artistic "Spielberg-like" speculation?  To explain the three observable primary phenotypes, naturalistic evolution must have occurred three times not once – meaning, the ape-to-man "Descent of Man" must have occurred in three lineages, not from one common ancestor.  However, the best evidence now indicates there was an original male-female pair based upon the best DNA research – known as Mitochondrial Eve and Chromosomal Y Adam.

428-438 – Fuz Rana, Neanderthals are no longer considered in the human tree.

443-452 – Next Saturday, June 16th, from 830am to Noon, at the Hilton Glendale, is our free "Salem Los Angeles Career Fair For Professionals."  Come meet recruiters from a dozen companies, and find out where the good job openings are right now!  Again, it's free, but seating is limited to the first 300.  Pre-register at kkla.com, just click on the "Salem Los Angeles Career Fair For Professionals" Banner to sign up online.  Two of the presenters join us...
