Founded in 2003, this year's 168 Film Festival is happening on Friday March 30 at the Hope Theater in San Fernando and Saturday March 31 at the Alex Theater in Glendale. Each year, teams from all around the world have 2 ½ weeks to do a short film (5 to 11 minutes in length) based on a Bible verse related to each year's theme; this year it is "Promises, Promises", years past themes included "Hearing God", and "Second Chances" among others. For a month prior to filming, believers working in the industry hold various workshops on the many aspects of film making. There is also a weekly mixer featuring a Q&A with believers working in the industry; including Ralph Winter (X-Men, Fantastic Four), Howard Kazanjian (Raiders of the Lost Ark, Return of the Jedi) and Terry Botwick (Veggie Tales, Sony).
The competition begins on verse night where the teams located in Southern California gather around a table of stones with a verse (based on the theme) underneath them. The teams read the verse and then have 10 days to write a script based on that verse; the genre can be comedy, drama, sci-fi, musical, western, etc. Once written, the teams then have 7 days to shoot, edit and score the film. Teams who turn in on time qualify to win various awards at the Festival ceremony at the Alex Theater.

The Daily Caller says it has published 152 pages of tweets downloaded from Trayvon's account, with the handle "NO_LIMIT_N***A".
Zimmerman had a permit to carry a handgun.
