Today we're partnering with Tom Lewis and Cure International (cureinternational.org) to literally CURE a child suffering from clubfoot by providing them with a series of simple, non-surgical procedures that has already helped over 12,000 kids walk over the past 3 years. Each week for 5 weeks, the child's feet are gently casted at just the right angle to progressively turn the deformed feet into a healthy position, and after the final casting, the child is fitted with special shoes and a brace that only needs to be worn nightly for a few years (much like a retainer for teeth). Children can be treated from as early as one day old to 4 years old – the earlier the better. Ideally, the children are treated as infants, and no one will ever know the child was born with club feet.
Last year, 200,000 children were born with clubfoot. Untreated, these kids will shrink into the shadows, unable to play with the other kids, go to school, get a job, marry, or lead a normal life because they are thought to be cursed.
$30 provides the series of castings for one child, $60 for 2 kids, $90 for 3 kids, $120 for 4 kids. $900 for 30 kids.
