400-408 Jack Hibbs, senior pastor of Calvary Chapel Chino Hills (calvarycch.org), heard weeknights here at 9pm with his program Real Radio.  Today we talk about the "Bible as/in History and Literature" class that recently got voted in to the high school curriculum – unanimously 5-0 – by the Chino Unified School District.  The course will be a social studies elective for Seniors.  The curriculum they will be using, published by the Bible Literacy Project, is currently used by 25 schools in California, and by over 400 schools in 43 states (bibleliteracy.org).  To make a donation to purchase the two books for this class, a NKJV Teen Study Bible and The Bible and its Influence call the CCCH office right now at (909) 393-7100, or visit the website calvarycch.org.  100% of your donation goes to buying these books, and if more is raised than they need in Chino, the money will be used to buy textbooks for another school district, e.g. Diamond Bar, Yorba Linda, Cucamonga, Walnut, etc.

428-437 Hugh Ross, founder and president of Reasons to Believe (reasons.org), is both an astrophysicist (Ph.D., University of Vancouver) and a pastor at Sierra Madre Congregational Church, and the author of over a dozen books, including his latest, Why The Universe Is The Way It Is.  Today, we talk about 1) why most scientists claim not to see the hand of the Creator in nature, 2) how the "faint sun paradox" refutes both theistic and atheistic evolution, and 3) why we ought to be thankful for flowering plants, Sperm whale poop, and the extinction of the mammoths.

458-508 Ret. Lt. General Tom McInerney, was the #3 man in the USAF as the Assistant Vice Chief of Staff at the pinnacle of his distinguished career, you see him regularly on Fox News as their senior military analyst, and he's the author of Endgame: The Blueprint for Victory in the War on Terror.  Tom shares today that he believes the Iranian proxy, Hezbollah, will provoke an Israeli military response in the next 60-90 days in order to distract Israel from launching an air strike against Iranian nuclear facilities.  This will enable the Soviet S-300 missile system to go operational in Iran, rendering any future air assault against Iran unlikely.  The Obama Administration not intervene.  He believes that if Israel waits much longer, their window of opportunity will close.  Secondly, we talk about how Gen. Petraeus must do three things to win in Afghanistan:  1) Change the strategy from the "winning hearts and minds counter insurgency" to the more traditional "defeat the Taliban enemy on the battlefield" strategy.  2) Change the ROE so that our warriors hands are no longer tied.  And 3) remove the counter-productive July 2011 timetable for withdrawal.

512-523Jeffrey Marx, (jeffreymarx.org) award-winning speaker and author of two big bestsellers Season of Life: a Football Star, a Boy, a Journey to Manhood and his latest The Long Snapper: A Second Chance, a Super Bowl, a Lesson for Life.  In 1986, at the age of 23, he became the youngest-ever Pulitzer Prize winner for his investigative reporting. Jeffrey runs the Wendy Marx Foundation for Organ Donation Awareness (jeffreymarx.org/wendy-marx-foundation) – named after his little sister and best friend who because of a successful liver transplant, was able to extend her life another 14 years.  She died in 2003 at the age of 36.

Today we talk about the true meaning of success, bouncing off what he learned while researching Season of Life, from the main character, former NFL star, now Baltimore pastor, Joe Ehrmann.  Jeffrey shares that one of the biggest impressions came on his first visit to the high school where Coach Joe Ehrmann heads up the football program.  Surrounded by 70 boys, he yells out, "What's our job?" – meaning the coaching staff's – and the boys yell back "To love us."  He then yells out, "What's your job?"  They then yell back, "To love each other."  Coach Ehrmann's playbook includes the terms "empathy, integrity, kindness, inclusion, justice, and living a life of service to others."  His program is called "Building Men for Others."

558-608 Glenn Stanton, (glenntstanton.com) is Director of Family Formation Studies at Focus on the Family (family.org), and currently directing a major research project on international family formation trends at the Institute of Marriage and Family in Ottawa.  He speaks extensively on the issues of gender, sexuality, marriage and parenting on campuses around the country, and even served in the Bush #43 administration working to improve fatherhood in the Head Start program.  He's authored three books: 1) Why Marriage Matters: Reasons to Believe in Marriage in Postmodern Society, 2) My Crazy Imperfect Christian Family, and 3) Marriage on Trial: The Case Against Same-Sex Marriage and Parenting.

Today, Glenn shares that of all the good things Focus does, if they had to be reduced to just one thing, that it would be to "make good men out of good boys."  He shares that it comes down to three things.  1) Boys need the confidence to know they can "get 'er done."  2) Boys need to feel accepted by a fraternity of men, to belong to the "man-tribe."  And 3) Boys need to learn how to respect themselves and thereby others.
