This Sunday morning I'll be preaching at all three morning services (7:30am 9:30am 11:30am) out at Calvary Chapel Chino Hills, my topic is "Becoming a Dangerous Christian."  I'd love to see you there!

And, don't forget the upcoming Religion on the Line event with Dennis Prager and me, moderated by Steve Arterburn, coming up on Sunday, February 21, from 400-600pm, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Anaheim.  Tickets are now on sale at kkla.com.

400-408 Dallas Willard, Professor of Philosophy at USC, and the person who has had the biggest impact on my spiritual life through his wonderful books and tapes, especially his classic The Divine Conspiracy.  His latest book is great too, it's entitled Knowing Christ Today: Why We Can Trust Spiritual Knowledge (dwillard.org).  Today, we start by asking Dallas, "When does temptation become lust?"

•  Dallas will be teaching an all-day conference Saturday, April 17, from 9am-5pm, at the Anaheim Vineyard entitled "Knowledge For Life."  I plan on being there, but seating is limited, so register online right now at vcfanaheim.com.  Here's a blurb from the webpage,

In 5 one-hour-long sessions, Dallas will explain:  1) Why spiritual knowledge matters to our flourishing.  2) How and why secularism assaults spiritual knowledge and what to do about it.  3)  How human desires need spiritual knowledge in order for a life to be led well.  4) How and why knowledge, not mere faith-commitment, empowers us to be in the public square.  And, 5) How to have a life that steadfastly experiences growth in knowledge and love.

428-437Scott Rae, Professor of Philosophy of Religion and Ethics at Talbot School of Theology (talbot.edu), and author of 6 books, with two more coming out later this year The Virtues of Capitalism and Business as Transformational Service.  [His previous books were:  The Ethics of Commercial Surrogate MotherhoodMoral Choices: An Introduction to EthicsBrave New Families: Biblical Ethics and Reproductive TechnologiesBeyond Integrity: A Judeo-Christian Approach to Business Ethics;  and Body and Soul: Human Nature and the Crisis in Ethics.]  Scott was one of my profs at Talbot, and his expertise is in both medical ethics and business ethics.  He's an ethics consultant for four Southern California hospitals, and he's also a fellow at the Center for Bioethics and Human Dignity, and a fellow at the Wilberforce Forum.

Today, Scott explains why "business is a crucible for spiritual formation."
