A convicted sex offender and his wife have been arrested in the 1991 kidnapping of an 11-year-old girl — who, authorities tell FOX 40 News, had been kept as a sex slave, FOX 40 News reported.
The unnamed authorities also told the TV station that the victim, Jaycee Lee Dugard, bore several children for the sex offender, Phillip Garrido, 58, and they said Garrido and his wife, Nancy, 54, held Dugard in a shed or other structure in the backyard.
The Garridos were arrested Wednesday based on a kidnapping and conspiracy investigation, police said. Phillip Garrido also is being held on possible charges of rape by force, lewd and lascivious acts with a minor and sexual penetration, said Jimmie Lee, a spokesman for the Contra Costa Sheriff's Department.
