400-408(3:05) Prop 8 "The Musical" (video here), at Sacramento Community College with an "all-star" cast that includes Jack Black as Jesus, Neil Patrick Harris, and John C. Reilly.  In the musical, Jesus asks Prop 8 supporters about the Bible verses that say shell fish is an abomination, that you can stone your wife, or sell your daughter into slavery, in order to diminish the abomination of homosexuality.  Then Jesus affirms the separation of church and state.  But people have the right to vote for whomever they choose on whatever criteria they choose too.  If Christians, Jews, and Mormons want to vote to perserve family that's not a violation of church and state, that called democracy.

• 428-437How do you answer this criticism?
(Leviticus 11:9-12) Leviticus was all about teaching separation, e.g. fish swim and bugs crawl, so if a bug in the sea has legs and can crawl, it's truly not a fish but a sea bug, or shellfish.   Besides, Romans 14:14 says it's up to personal conscience, and Jesus says in Matt 15:11, "It is not what enters into the mouth that defiles the man, but what proceeds out of the mouth, this defiles the man."
In 1400BC, before the Law was given to Israel, the pagan nations had no law against men killing their wives and children.  The OT improved that moral order by requiring men to go before the elders before anyone was stoned.  Rabbinic literature has no record of this ever being done.
(Exodus 21:7-11) If you sell your daughter to a man, and he becomes unhappy with her, he may not sell her off, he must allow her family to redeem her back.  And, if the man buys her for his son, she must be treated as a daughter.  All these are improvements over the then current moral codes of the pagan nations.
443-452 – • Michelle Malkin (12/03/08) Who will make the other Prop. 8 musical?
A bunch of Hollywood libs produced "Prop. 8: The Musical," with the obligatory ridicule of people of faith and Jack Black-as-Jesus. If the opponents of Prop. 8 stuck to cheesy dinner theater protests like this, I'd have no problem. It's the insane mob attacks, sweeping blacklists, and church vandalism that give them a bad name.
There's gotta be someone out there up for making the other Prop. 8 musical — the one with angry activists storming restaurants and Mormon temples, hectoring elderly people over their signs, and hounding donors large and small until they pay off their tormentors in the name of tolerance. Anyone?
458-508 – • King 5 (12/02/08) Anti-religious sign at state Capitol raises eyebrows.
(2:33) The Washington State Capitol in Olympia now has next to the nativity scene a placard that reads, "At this season of the Winter Solstice may reason prevail. There are no gods, no devils, no angels, no heaven or hell. There is only our natural world. Religion is but myth and superstition that hardens hearts and enslaves minds."  The metal plaque has been delayed in shipping.  The audio is from Dan Barker of the Freedom from Religion Foundation.  Jim Erskine of the WA State General Administration Office is the one telling the requirements for posting something in their State Capitol. Dennis Bounds and Lori Matsukawa are the news people running the segment.  Elisa Hahn reports.
512-523How do you challenge this?  What is the principle their advocating?  Must we now allow the KKK and skinhead groups "equal access" to exercise their "free speech" on Martin Luther King Day.  Should we now allow any "statement" to be displayed next to any "symbol?"  Do you support Washington Governor Christine Gregoire decision to allow this statement?  Would it be better to just revoke the holiday?
