Coming to you live from the offices of the Money Guys at Applied Financial, for their New Office Grand Opening & "Yes On 8!" Election Night Coverage, and they're inviting everyone down to meet the entire Applied Financial Team and to watch the Frank Pastore Show! We've got some snacks and soft drinks, so come on down! We're down the 5 and the 133 just off the Barranca Exit at 100 Pacifica in Irvine, next to the Doubletree Hotel. For directions and info call 866-SEEK-COUNSEL.
The election will decide 35 Senate races (D:51, R49), 435 House races (D:235, R:199), 11 governor's races (D:28, R:22) and the Presidency that comes with 3,000 federal appointments within the Executive Branch and any Supreme Court vacancies, should they arise. And for us in California, we're focusing on two propositions: Prop 4 (parental notification), and Prop 8 (traditional marriage).
McCain needs these states on his electoral path to victory: OH, PA, VA, NC, GA, FL, IN, MO, CO, and NV.

413-423 – Are we still a "centrist" country with "politics being played between the 40 yard lines?" What issues have won and what issues have lost?
On the "losing" side, what about Abortion? (Obama says he'll sign the Freedom of Choice Act). Traditional Marriage? (On the ballot in CA, AZ, FL). Limited Government? (Tax increases mean bigger government). Conservatism? (McCain is a moderate, Palin is a conservative).
On the "winning" side, what about Same-Sex Marriage? Secularism? Socialism? (For example, should Obama have "shared the wealth" with his campaign finances?)
• The Hill (11/4/08) Schumer on Fox: Fairness Doctrine 'fair and balanced'.
(1:04) Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) on Fox says think of the Fairness Doctrine as regulating pornography. ""I think we should all be fair and balanced, don't you? ... The very same people who don't want the Fairness Doctrine want the FCC [Federal Communications Commission] to limit pornography on the air. I am for that… But you can't say government hands off in one area to a commercial enterprise but you are allowed to intervene in another. That's not consistent."
