400-408Jim Garlow, pastor of Skyline Church in San Diego (skylinechurch.org) and leader of the successful Yes on 8 amendment (protectmarriage.com) on what took place on the Dr. Phil Show this past Friday on Prop 8.
(1:43) San Francisco mayor Gavin Newsome asks Jim Garlow about the connection between interracial marriage and same sex marriage and Maggie Gallagher chimes in on the Dr. Phil show which aired 11/21/2008.  They talk about it then a black lady on the Yes on pop 8 side chimes in and arguments and some chaos occurs while the black woman says, "You have never met an ex-black person!"

428-437Dr. Mark Hitchcock, pastor of Faith Bible Church (edmondfaithbible.com) in Edmond, Oklahoma, professor at Dallas Theological Seminary, and author of more than 15 books on end times prophecy including his soon to be released The Late Great United States: What Bible Prophecy Reveals about America's Last Days, on where America fits into end times prophecy.
• The information below is summarized from "Charts of Christian Theology and Doctrine" by Wayne House (1992).
Dispensational Premillennialism:  the Rapture (He will come for his church) and the Second Coming (He will come with His church) are distinct events separated by a 7-year Tribulation.  The Church is not spiritual Israel, the nation of Israel itself will fulfill prophecies concerning Israel.  Christ will reign on Earth for a literal 1,000 years.  Global "conditions" will continue to decline.  Proponents:  J. N. Darby, C. I. Scofield, L. S. Chafer, John Walvoord, Charles Feinberg, Charles Ryrie.
Historic Premillennialism:  the Rapture and the Second Coming are the same event.  The Church is spiritual Israel, and will fulfill some of the prophecies concerning Israel.   Believers will be resurrected at the beginning of the Millennium, and unbelievers at the end.  The Church will go through the Tribulation, hence it is posttrib.  The Millennium may not be a literal 1,000 years.  Proponents:  George E. Ladd, Millard Erickson.
Postmillennialism:  The Church is the New Israel.  The Church will one day Christianize the whole world, and this will lead to a 1,000 year period of peace and prosperity called the Millennium.  At the end of the Millennium, Christ will return.  Global "conditions" will continue to improve.  There will be one general resurrection of all people, believers and unbelievers at the Second Coming.  Proponents:, Loraine Boettner, Augustus Hodge, Charles Hodge, W.G.T. Shedd, A. H. Strong, B. B. Warfield, James Snowden, Christian Reconstructionists.
Amillennialism:  The Church is the New Israel.  Israel and the Church are not two distinct programs, but one unified outworking of God's purposes and plans in a "covenant of grace."  There are no prophecies to be fulfilled in the nation of Israel.  There is no future millennial kingdom only the eternal state, God's kingdom has always been and will always be.  The Kingdom is now present in the Church Age, as is Tribulation.  There will be one general resurrection of all people, believers and unbelievers at the Second Coming.  Proponents: Augustine, Louis Berkhof, Abraham Kuyper, Leon Morris, Anthony Hoekema, most Reformed theologians, and the Roman Catholic Church.
Pretribulation:  "Christ will come for His saints at the Rapture (John 14:1-14; 1 Cor. 15:51-58; 1 Thess. 4:13-18), and then with His saints at the Revelation (Zech. 14; Matt. 24:29-31; Mark 13:24-27; Luke 21:25-27; and Rev. 19)."  His return is imminent (Titus 2:13), with no advance warnings (Acts 20:29-30; 2 Peter 2:1; 1 John 4:1-3).  Christians are exempt from divine wrath (1 Thess. 1:10, Rev. 3:10).  There will be a literal Tribulation (Revelation 6-19), and the church will not go through it since it is not mentioned.  The "Restrainer" of 2 Thess. 2:1-12 is the Holy Spirit, and He must remove the Church before the Tribulation begins.  Living, non-glorified believers will enter and then repopulate the millennial kingdom (Zech. 12:10-13, Rom. 11:26).  Proponents:  John F. Walvoord, J. Dwight Pentecost, John and Paul Feinberg, Charles Ryrie, Leon Wood, Hal Lindsey.
Midtribulation:  The Rapture occurs in the middle of the Tribulation prior to the Great Tribulation.  Emphasis is upon the midpoint of 3 1/2 years (42 months, 1,260 days) from Dan. 7, 9:27, 12:7; Rev. 11:23, 12:3, 6, 14).  2 Thess. 2:14 refers to preceding signs of the Rapture.  Rev. 11:15-19 mentions the seventh trumpet, which is identical to the trumpet of 1 Thess. 4:16.  The Olivet Discourse of Matt. 24-25 coincides with the Rapture passage of 1 Thess. 4:15.   Proponents:  Gleason Archer, J. Oliver Buswell, Merrill Tenney.
Posttribulation:  The Rapture will occur after the Tribulation at the Second Coming.  Proponents:  Douglas Moo, Robert Gundry.

558-608 – • Don't Be a Victim of Fraud!
There are some verified reports of a new credit card scam going on right now.  What's new is that the scam artist actually has your credit card number – but they don't have the 3 (Visa/MC/Discover) or 4 (AMEX) digit verification number on the back of the card which they're trying to get from you.  They'll say they're from the Credit Card Fraud office, and even verify your bank card number and mailing address, and even say that charges have been attempted and their just verifying with you to make sure everything is okay.  Then, they'll ask for your verification number.
NEVER  give anyone, either over the phone or online, ANY INFORMATION!
Every credit card company staff member already has full access to your account info, they would NEVER ask you to "confirm" anything.  The ONLY exception would be if YOU were to call them for help and they would need to verify who YOU were.  If they were to call you – they would NEVER ask you for personal information.
IF they do ask for personal information – tell them you will call THEM back and use the number on the back of your credit card – never use any number a caller supplies.  Then immediately, hang up the phone and call your local police department and put in a police report.  Then call your credit card company and ask for the FRAUD or SECURITY department.  Explain to them what happened and ask for your card account to be CLOSED and re-issued with a NEW number.
NEVER respond to an e-mail that looks convincing – thieves can easily COPY any company's web site or e-mail protocols.  Always open a NEW browser window and enter in the address you use to access your accounts on line.  DO NOT USE hyperlinks in e-mails this is how they begin to get your information.
This time of year – and in this current economy – would-be thieves are multiplying like rabbits.
If you don't have a credit monitoring service yet – you might consider getting one for yourself and your family as a Christmas present.
Most AAA members are eligible for FREE credit monitoring through Experian.
Chase offers a monitoring service for all three credit companies for $12 a month for any one – you don't have to be a Chase customer.

• Here are a few more tips.
• Never give anyone your complete social security number– only the last 4 digits.  And, obviously, never write your number down for anyone.  If anyone demands it – make sure they have a darn good reason why they need it and how you are supposed to give it to them.
• Re-print your checks but don't use your full name – use only your initials, e.g. "J.P. Doe."  Thieves will not know how you sign your checks – nor will they know what your first name is.
• Consider using a PO Box or business mailing address instead of your home address on your checks.
• Use your cell phone number in place of your home number.
• Never put your Social or Driver's License numbers on your checks.
• If you go to a store and for some reason their "check or credit card processing system is down" and they want to "IMPRINT" your credit card the old way – PASS ON IT!  You've just given multiple people your credit card number.
• Never use your personal MAILBOX to mail checks.  Always put payment envelopes directly into a USPS mailbox – never use your house mailbox with the flag up.  You're just advertising to hundreds of crooks  "come and get it."
• Reduce the number of bills you pay by check.  Instead, use your banks free bill paying service – or use an automatic bill paying service.  That way, you're protected against fraud and will have legal recourse should your bank or vendor contribute to some form of fraudulent activity through holes in their security.
• Buy and use a shredder to shred everything with any personal information on it – but especially all those credit card solicitations – your credit card statements, etc.  Ever notice how many have cash access checks enclosed?
• Once a thief has a starting point – your full name – address, etc. – you become more attractive as a victim.
• And lastly – never put personal information on public web sites like Facebook, MySpace, etc.  You're only advertising to millions and giving thieves all kinds of personal information – where you live – work – kids – when you'll be home and away – etc.  All of it is just another open invitation for them to "come and get you".
