(:26) Joe Biden talking to Good Morning America on Thursday 9/18/08 talking about how it is the Rich's patriotic duty to pay more taxes.  • Yahoo (9/19/08), Biden calls paying higher taxes a patriotic act.
• Michael Medved (9/22/08), The Question of Taxes.
This is Michael Medved for Townhall.com.  While telling ABC higher taxes were "patriotic," Joe Biden repeated Democratic claims that Obama's proposed tax hikes meant wealthy people are "still going to pay less taxes than they did under Reagan." In truth, the Reagan presidency twenty years ago ended with a top marginal rate of 28 percent; today it's 35 percent; Obama would raise it to 39.6 percent. The Democrats would only provide "less taxes than Reagan" if you focus on the Gipper's first months in the White House—before he radically lowered rates. After inheriting a top rate of 70 percent, Reagan slashed it several times to produce the '80s boom. The Obama tax plan shouldn't be associated with Reagan but with Carter—who presided over a dysfunctional economy even worse than today's troubles.  Dishonest references to Reaganomics dishonors a great president, and demonstrate the Democrats' shameless mendacity.  I'm Michael Medved.

(:30) BO's Spanish Language Ad (with English voice over)
"They want us to forget the insults we've put up with, the intolerance.  They made us feel marginalized in a country we love so much. John McCain and his Republican friends have two faces. One that says lies just to get our vote and another, even worse, that continues the failed policies of George Bush that put special interests ahead of working families."
As the television ad's announcer speaks in Spanish, a picture of Rush Limbaugh appears onscreen with quotes of him saying, "Mexicans are stupid and unqualified" and "Shut your mouth or get out."
The companion radio ad uses the same script as above and then continues:
"Don't forget that John McCain abandoned us rather than confront the leaders of the Republican Party. Many of us were born here, and others came to work and achieve a better life for their families -- not to commit crimes or drain the system like many of John McCain's friends claim. Let's not be fooled by political tricks from John McCain and the Republicans. Vote so they respect us. Vote for a change."
