Happy St. Patrick's Day!  Tonight, in the six o'clock hour, the finals of our FPS Limerick contest!
400-408Ann Watkins from Calvary Chapel South Bay.
Ron Kessler, Washington correspondent with Newsmax (newsmax.com).
• Ronald Kessler (3/16), Obama Attended Hate America Sermon.  Barack's down 5 points since Thursday and falling, the "I wasn't there when he said the bad stuff" alibi isn't working.  He "never inhaled" in 20 years?  Newsmax says he was there at the 7:30am service, the campaign says he caught a plane to Florida at 8:50am.  Could both be true?  Why did Obama dis-invite Wright from praying at his campaign over a year ago if he was "unaware of his inflammatory statements?"  Oprah left in the 1990's because Wright's sermons were too offensive, why didn't Barack?  Has Obama been lying to us?  How can his pastor be a Black Nationalist and he be the great Unifier?  The website has removed The Black Values System and replaced it with videos of a white, female church member (here).
Hey!  Don't forget, next Thursday we've got a free event for those of you in church leadership looking to expand your church!  It starts at 9:30am, and includes a free lunch!  It's at the Crowne Plaza Resort in Anaheim, and we're calling it the "Kingdom Builder's Seminar."  Seating is limited, so call to make your reservation!  And, get this, some ministry is going to come away with $5,000 in free advertising on KKLA!  Call now (888) 321-2469!
413-423 (:53) Reverend Calvin Butts on CBS's Early Show says the shock rhetoric is not unusual in black culture.
(:43) Butts gives the history of the black church
• (1:18) Rev. Butts says that the black pastors should never dial back their rhetoric.
• (:56) Butts says people know how to discern radical rhetoric from application of the love of God.
MITCHELL: Is it fair to assume that everyone in the congregation walks out of that church agreeing with what the pastor says?
BUTTS: Absolutely not. We have thinking people in our congregations, people who know how to discern between the very fiery and forceful rhetoric and the actual application in life. I don't know the full context of Reverend Wright's sermons, all of them, but I do know that all of us have used strong language from time to time in order to drive home a point. It's in the prophetic tradition. It's not unusual to the black church either. I mean, it's used in churches. It's used in synagogues. It's used in mosques. It is the sacred rhetoric. And it is often forceful. It is often powerful. It is often condemnatory. In the Bible they call the great civilization of Babylon, pardon the expression, a whore.
"I am going to be talking about not just Reverend Wright, but the larger issue of race in this campaign," he said.
He added that he would "talk about how some of these issues are perceived from within the black church issue for example," he said.
He also briefly defended Wright from the image that has come through in a handful of repeatedly televised clips from recent Wright sermons.
"The caricature that's being painted of him is not accurate," he said.
It is impossible for Senator Barack Obama and his wife to have patterned Rev. Wright's church and not have embraced his teachings and vision of America. My minister does and has always had a profound impact on my outlook about life and strengthening my spirit to forgive the transgressions of this world and not to induce more hate and separation. I find it difficult to believe Senator Obama when he tells us that he was unaware of his Pastor's vicious message from the pulpit and that had he known there would have been condemnation. Many black intellectuals are still angry for what they perceive as the continuous crippling effect of racism and slavery in America on their careers. The irony is that many of their children have embraced this country, finding success and prosperity, while their parents continue to allow their wounds to be nurtured in this hopeless mindset preached from the pulpit. Michelle Obama's expression of how for the first time she was proud of America was indicative of the influence of her Pastor.
428-437What does where you go to church say about you?  Does where you go to church reflect who you are? What assumptions can legitimately be made about where a person goes to church?  Aren't people known by their leaders whom they identify with?  Don't people pick churches based upon the leadership?  And, don't congregations tend to take on the personalities of their leaders?

(:42) Donna Brazile talks about Barack's narrative.
• (:41) Barack Obama gives a shout out to Rev. Wright at Hampton Univ. on June 5, 2007.
(:28) Juan Williams on Fox News Sunday with Wallace says Obama joined Wright's church to affirm Black Nationalism.
(:34) Juan Williams says Obama is playing games on the race question, that "we don't really know him."
• Harry R. Jackson, Jr., The Foolishness of Preaching.
"Should Mr. Obama be judged because of the acts of his pastor." My answer is yes! Pastor Wright's worldview and his understanding of race, culture, and religion of the bible will in some measure affect how Barack Obama views the world. Only time will tell whether Obama's life and message have been helped or handicapped by the ministry of Jeremiah Wright.  If Obama says nothing else, many people will simply label him as a hypocrite who says one thing in public but acts differently behind closed doors.
