413-423Jordon Lorence, senior counsel with the Alliance Defense Fund (, on ADF filing a request with the California Supreme Court yesterday asking that the gay marriage decision be delayed until after the November elections. If the Los Angeles Times article is any indication, we'll have to fight this in the courts and in the media.
• LAT, Californians narrowly reject gay marriage:  Voters also back a proposed constitutional amendment to ban same-sex unions, a new Times/KTLA survey shows.  Strange.  The 54-35% 19-point margin of those opposing same-sex marriage is described as "Californians narrowly reject," but the 61-39% 22-point margin of Prop 22 in 2000 is "Californians overwhelmingly banned."  So, at the LAT, they go from "narrowly" to "overwhelmingly" in a mere 3 points?
• Patrick J. Buchanan, Post-Christian America.  "Christianity is the cornerstone of Western Civilization. Since the fall of Rome to our own time, nations have believed and acted on the belief that marriage and traditional families are the cinderblocks on which a society must be built. When these cinderblocks crumble, the society collapses. The truth has been born out in our own time.  With a third of all children born out of wedlock -- 50 percent of all Hispanic kids, 70 percent of black kids -- and half of all marriages ending in divorce, the social indicators have recorded explosions -- in crime, violence, drug and alcohol abuse, dropout rates, gang membership, and jail and prison populations.  The correlation between prison inmates and broken homes, or homes never created, is absolute."
• Stuart Taylor Jr., Gay Marriage by Judicial Decree.
428-437Larry Acosta, president and founder of the Urban Youth Workers Institute (, whose mission is to partner with 20,000 urban and multi-ethnic leaders and reach 1,000,000 urban youth for Christ by 2010, on how he plans to meet that goal. Hip Hop music is a big part of the organizations workshops.

544-554Yesterday, John McCain called Hagee's views of Israel, Hitler, and the Holocaust "crazy and unacceptable," and rejected his endorsement.  McCain also rejected Ron Parsley's endorsement because Parsley was too critical of Islam, calling it "inherently violent."  Should McCain have rejected Hagee's endorsement?
(2:22) John Hagee from the late 1990's, from a sermon entitled "Battle for Jerusalem."
(:26) Hagee explains the hunters and the fishers in relation to the Holocaust.  "God says in Jeremiah 16 - 'Behold I will bring them the Jewish people again unto their land that I gave unto their fathers' - that would be Abraham, Isaac and Jacob - 'Behold I will send for many fishers and after will I send for many hunters. And they the hunters shall hunt them' - that will be the Jews - 'from every mountain and from every hill and from out of the holes of the rocks.' If that doesn't describe what Hitler did in the Holocaust... you can't see that."
(:32) Hagee explains what happened to the Jews who did not return to Israel.  "Those who came founded Israel, those who did not went through the hell of the Holocaust.  Then god sent a hunter. A hunter is someone with a gun and he forces you. Hitler was a hunter. And the Bible says -- Jeremiah writing -- 'They shall hunt them from every mountain and from every hill and from the holes of the rocks,' meaning there's no place to hide. And that might be offensive to some people but don't let your heart be offended. I didn't write it, Jeremiah wrote it. It was the truth and it is the truth.  How did it happen? Because God allowed it to happen. Why did it happen? Because God said my top priority for the Jewish people is to get them to come back to the land of Israel."
