Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ:

I write to you concerning an alarming and serious matter that negatively impacts the Church in the United States directly, and that strikes at the fundamental right to religious liberty for all citizens of any faith. The federal government, which claims to be "of, by, and for the people," has just been dealt a heavy blow to almost a quarter of those people — the Catholic population — and to the millions more who are served by the Catholic faithful.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services announced last week that almost all employers,
including Catholic employers, will be forced to offer their employees' health coverage that includes sterilization, abortion-inducing drugs, and contraception. Almost all health insurers will be forced to include those "services" in the health policies they write. And almost all individuals will be forced to buy that coverage as a part of their policies.

In so ruling, the Obama Administration has cast aside the First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States, denying to Catholics our Nation's first and most fundamental freedom, that of religious liberty. And as a result, unless the rule is overturned, we Catholics will be compelled to either violate our consciences, or to drop health coverage for our employees (and suffer the penalties for doing so). The Obama Administration's sole concession was to give our institutions one year to comply.

We cannot—we will not—comply with this unjust law. People of faith cannot be made second class citizens. We are already joined by our brothers and sisters of all faiths and many others of good will in this important effort to regain our religious freedom. Our parents and grandparents did not come to these shores to help build America's cities and towns, its infrastructure and institutions, its enterprise and culture,
only to have their posterity stripped of their God given rights. In generations past, the Church has always been able to count on the faithful to stand up and protect her sacred rights and duties. I hope and trust she can count on this generation of Catholics to do the same. Our children and grandchildren deserve nothing less.

And therefore, I would ask of you two things. First, as a community of faith we must commit ourselves to prayer and fasting that wisdom and justice may prevail, and religious liberty may be restored. Without God, we can do nothing; with God, nothing is impossible. Second, I would also recommend visiting www.usccb.org/conscience,to learn more about this severe assault on religious liberty, and how to contact Congress in support of legislation that would reverse the Obama Administration's decision.

// This is the latest development in the spat between the federal government and the Catholic Church. While contraception is a major problem dividing the two parties, other developments have added to the relational deterioration. Among the developments, the Department of Health and Human Services decided to end funding to the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops last year.

Rather than continuing to allocate money to a special program the bishops group oversaw to assist victims of modern-day slavery (i.e. human trafficking), the administration, instead, chose to give the funds to three non-Catholic groups. The bishops conference had refused to refer trafficking victims to receive contraceptives or abortions, so the American Civil Liberties Union sued and HHS decided to provide funds to groups that would refer women for these services.

Then there's gay marriage — another contentious issue. The administration's stance of not defending traditional marriage also contradicts Catholic teaching.

As for the health care regulation — a tenet that abortion-rights groups heralded when it was introduced last summer — there's no telling how the situation will end, as the Church seems adamant about its refusal to comply.

In September, the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops called the regulation "an unprecedented attack on religious liberty." In November, The Catholic Advocate PAC launched an attack campaign against the Obama administration as well. To these responses, Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said late last year that the Church's "conscience thing" puts woman at risk (yes, she's a Catholic).

In the end, there will be dire results, it seems, should the administration proceed as planned.

(:27) 20a SANTORUM – The bigger issue here is, these two gentlemen, who are out distracting from the most important issues we have been playing petty personal politics, can we set aside that Newt was a member of Congress and used the skills that he developed as a member of Congress to go out and advise companies -- and that's not the worst thing in the world -- and that Mitt Romney is a wealthy guy because worked hard and he's going out and working hard? And you guys should that alone and focus on the issues.

(25a) GINGRICH: Given that standard, Mitt, I did say I thought it was unusual. And I don't know of any American president who has had a Swiss bank account. I'd be glad for you to explain that sort of thing.

ROMNEY: OK. I will. I will. I'll say it again. I have a trustee that manages my investments in a blind trust. That was so that I would avoid any conflicts of interest. That trustee indicated last week, when he was asked about this, he said that he wanted to diversify the investments that I had. And for awhile he had money in a Swiss account, reported in the U.S., full taxes paid on it, U.S. taxes. There's nothing wrong with that. And I know that there may be some who try to make a deal of that, as you have publicly. But look, I think it's important for people to make sure that we don't castigate individuals who have been successful and try and, by innuendo, suggest there's something wrong with being successful and having investments and having a return on those investments. Speaker, you've indicated that somehow I don't earn that money. I have earned the money that I have. I didn't inherit it. I take risks. I make investments. Those investments lead to jobs being created in America. I'm proud of being successful. I'm proud of being in the free enterprise system that creates jobs for other people. I'm not going to run from that. I'm proud of the taxes I pay. My taxes, plus my charitable contributions, this year, 2011, will be about 40 percent. So, look, let's put behind this idea of attacking me because of my investments or my money, and let's get Republicans to say, you know what? What you've accomplished in your life shouldn't be seen as a detriment, it should be seen as an asset to help America. (APPLAUSE)

(1:19) 62 SANTORUM – The foundational documents of our country -- everybody talks about the Constitution, very, very important. But the Constitution is the "how" of America. It's the operator's manual. The "why" of America, who we are as a people, is in the Declaration of Independence, "We hold these truths to be self-evident that all men are created equal and endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights." The Constitution is there to do one thing: protect God-given rights. That's what makes America different than every other country in the world. No other country in the world has its rights -- rights based in God-given rights, not government-given rights. And so when you say, well, faith has nothing to do with it, faith has everything to do with it. If rights come… (APPLAUSE) If our president believes that rights come to us from the state, everything government gives you, it can take away. The role of the government is to protect rights that cannot be taken away. And so the answer to that question is, I believe in faith and reason and approaching the problems of this country but understand where those rights come from, who we are as Americans and the foundational principles by which we have changed the world.

(1:24) 54 ROMNEY – The people of America recognize that this is a critical time. This is not just an average election. This is a time where we're going to decide whether America will remain the great hope of the 21st century, whether this will be an American century, or, instead, whether we'll continue to go down a path to become more and more like Europe, a social welfare state. That's where we're headed. Our economy is becoming weaker. The foundation of our future economy is being eroded. Government has become too large. We're headed in a very dangerous direction. I believe to get America back on track, we're going to have to have dramatic, fundamental, extraordinary change in Washington to be able to allow our private sector to once again reemerge competitively, to scale back the size of government and to maintain our strength abroad in our military capacities. I believe that, to change Washington in such a dramatic way, you cannot do it by people who have been there their entire careers. I believe, if you just elect the same people to change chairs in Washington, not much happen. I think, if you want to change Washington, you're going to have to bring someone in who has been on the outside. I have lived in the private sector. I know how it works. I've competed with businesses around the world. I know how to win. I know what it takes to keep America strong. I know how to work in government. I've had experience for -- four years, rather, working as the governor of Massachusetts. I will use the experience of my life to get America right. And I will be able to convince the American people that someone with my experience is very different than Barack Obama. And that experience is how I'll beat him.

(1:19) 55 GINGRICH – You know, I have participated in the two largest Republican sweeps in modern time, 1980, in the Reagan campaign, and 1994, with the Contract with America, which had the largest one-party increase in American history, 9 million extra votes. I believe that what we need this fall is a big-choice election that goes to the heart of who we are. I'm running more than anything for my two grandchildren, Maggie and Robert. I'd like them to be able to look back 50 years from now and say that what we did, what we the American people did, the choice we made in 2012 to unleash the American people, to rebuild our country based on the core values, to pose for the American people a simple choice: Do you want freedom and independence and a paycheck and a job, or do you want dependence and big government and food stamps and a lack of future? And I believe, if we have a big election with truly historic big choices, that we can defeat Barack Obama by a huge margin. But it won't be by running just as a Republican. It will be an American campaign open to every American who prefers a paycheck to food stamps, who prefers the Declaration of Independence to Saul Alinsky and who prefers a strong national security to trying to appease our enemies.

(1:37) 57 SANTORUM – I agree with the previous two speakers that this is a big election. This is an election about fundamental freedom. It's about who America is going to be. Are we a country that's going to be built great from the bottom up, as our founders intended, or from the top down? I just think I'm a lot better than the previous two speakers to be able to make that case to the American people. I'm not for a top- down government-run health care system. I wasn't for the Wall Street bailouts like these two gentlemen were. Governor Romney talks about the private sector and how he's going to bring private sector. When the private sector was in trouble, he voted for government to come in and take over the private sector and be able to -- and to bail them out. Cap-and-trade -- both of them bought into the global warming hoax, bought into the cap-and-trade, top-down control of our energy and manufacturing sector. If you look at President Obama's speech the other night, what did he lead with? He lead with manufacturing. He led with manufacturing why? Because the base of his party, the ones that are always the ones -- not the base -- the swing vote in his party, the ones that Ronald Reagan was able to get -- we call them Reagan Democrats up in Pennsylvania. Those are the blue-collar working people of America who know that this president has left them behind. He has a plan for them, and it's more dependency, not work, not opportunity. So he went out and tried to make a play for manufacturing. That's been the center point of my campaign. The center point of my campaign is to be able to win the industrial heartland, get those Reagan Democrats back, talking about manufacturing, talking about building that ladder of success all the way down so people can climb all the way up. That's why I'm the best person to be able to go out and win the states that are necessary to win this presidency and govern with the mandate that Newt just talked about.

My Summary – Epstein argues that if "teenagerhood" was a universal malady, it would be universally acknowledged much like toddlerhood – everywhere and always, a 2 year old has been a 2 year old. But the very fact other cultures do not dismiss teenagers as morally or intellectually inferior mitigates against the claim of an inferior teenage brain that's bubbling in hormones. In fact, over 100 cultures around the world don't have any adolescent trauma, and many don't even have a word for "teenager." It's just not a reality to them. If he's right, and I believe he is since the research proves it, then we need to totally rethink how we raise our kids. This is a Kuhnian paradigm shift, a scientific revolution. There is no such thing as "the teen brain," yet there is the ubiquitous acceptance of the "myth of adolescence."

See, remember he was called a "glutton" and a "drunkard" by "religious men"

But the Son of God never supports self-righteousness; not now, not then

Now back to the point: One thing is vital to mention

How Jesus and religion are on opposite spectrums

See, one's the work of God, but one's a man-made invention

See, one is the cure, but the other's the infection

[Q6] See, because religion says "do," Jesus says "done"

Religion says "slave," Jesus says "son"

Religion puts you in bondage while Jesus sets you free

Religion makes you blind, but Jesus makes you see

And that's why religion and Jesus are two different clans

Religion is man searching for God; Christianity is God searching for man

Not based on my merits but Jesus' obedience alone

Because he took the crown of thorns, and the blood dripped down his face

He took what we all deserved; I guess that's why you call it "grace"

Because when he was dangling on that cross, he was thinking of you

And he absorbed all your sin, and he buried it in the tomb

Which is why I'm kneeling at the cross, saying, "Come on! There's room!"

So for religion, no, I hate it; in fact, I literally resent it

Because when Jesus said, "It is finished," I believe he meant it

• (5X) Blaze (1/23/2012) THIS IS A CATHOLIC PRIEST RAPPING HIS RESPONSE TO THE 'HATE RELIGION, BUT LOVE JESUS' VIDEO.

As we've noted, not everyone is a fan of 22-year-old Jefferson Bethke's "Why I Hate Religion, But Love Jesus." In addition to going viral, the spoken word artist's now infamous clip has spawned a plethora of responses. Among the flurry of videos offering rebuttal to Bethke's anti-organized religion commentary comes one from Fr. Claude Burns, a Catholic priest at Holy Spirit Church in Evansville, Indiana. Burns, whose stage name is Fr. Pontifex, is a rapper who has taken the Catholic hip-hop world by storm (yes, there is, in fact, a Catholic hip-hop genre).

Fr. Pontifex's response to Bethke is called "Why I love Religion, And Love Jesus," as it delves into the reasons why holding reverence for both religious structures and the individual who is central to Christianity is, in his view, possible. Rather than opening with a frame that reads "Jesus > Religion," as Bethke did, Fr. Pontifex's video reads "Jesus <3 Religion." (The "<3″ symbol is a text way of saying heart or love.)

"What if I told you, that Jesus loves religion?," he says. "And that by his coming as a man, he brought his religion to fruition."

Then he continues, responding to Bethke directly: "See this had to be addressed, the use of illogical terms and definitions. You clearly have a heart for Jesus, but it's fueling atheistic opinions. See, what makes religion great, is not errors of wars or inquisitions — it's that broken men and women get to participate in his mission."

Fr. Pontifex continues, addressing the original video's critique of religion's handling of poverty and the other related elements. He defends what he calls the the church's "oceans of compassion." Then, he maintains that religion is needed to set parameters for those who worship Christ.

"And if I have the jersey and I'm playing for the Bulls, there's gonna be some boundaries, regulations and some rules," Fr. Pontifex raps. "You can't have Christ without his church. You can't have the king without his kingdom."

"I coined this term donor sexual and I'll explain, it means 100 percent of my sexual energy is for producing sperm for childless couples to have babies," Arsenault told host Anderson Cooper.

Currently being investigated by the FDA for running his private, one-man, unregulated sperm bank, where he has donated to more than 53 couples, the tech geek confirmed that he has never had sex.

"I will probably be the 40-year-old virgin, except I'll have 15 plus kids," he explained.

When the audience exploded in a round of applause, bemused Cooper responded, "Why are you all applauding? I'm not sure what the applause line on that is."

Later in the show, Arsenault came face-to-face with one of his biological children, two-year-old daughter, Analise, for the first time.

"It's a thrill," to meet her, he said. "I'm trying to not get too emotional. I'm just extremely happy that she's healthy and in a loving home. I hope she has the gene of compassion and that her parents nurture that."

See, because religion says "do," Jesus says "done"

And that's why religion and Jesus are two different clans

Religion is man searching for God; Christianity is God searching for man

Which is why salvation is freely mine, and forgiveness is my own

Not based on my merits but Jesus' obedience alone

Because he took the crown of thorns, and the blood dripped down his face

He took what we all deserved; I guess that's why you call it "grace"

And while being murdered he yelled, "Father forgive them; they know not what they do"

Because when he was dangling on that cross, he was thinking of you

And he absorbed all your sin, and he buried it in the tomb

Which is why I'm kneeling at the cross, saying, "Come on! There's room!"

So for religion, no, I hate it; in fact, I literally resent it

Because when Jesus said, "It is finished," I believe he meant it

With Jesus though you have humble confident joy because He represents you, you don't represent yourself and His sacrifice is perfect putting us in perfect standing with God!

Why does it build huge churches but fails to feed the poor?

Newt's a battering ram who'll wind up in splinters, but he can do plenty of damage along the way. The candidate people immediately speak of here when talk turns to the GOP primary is a man named Romneybut. "I like Romney but I could change my mind." "I like Romney but I like Santorum too."

// People don't embrace Mr. Romney, they circle back to him. They consider him, shop around for something better, decide the first product they looked at will last longest and give value, and buy.

// Those who run the Romney campaign would be fools not to answer it, quickly and substantively, not only with a defense of free enterprise but with a defense of Bain. Are claims in the ad not true? Say it. Is there a case that more jobs were created by Bain than lost? Make it—with workers in front of workplaces that now exist because Bain existed.

A full-throated, detailed defense of Bain that is also a defense of economic freedom and free markets might not only benefit Mr. Romney. A Los Angeles bishop stepped down from his duties with the Catholic church on Wednesday after acknowledging he fathered two children.

Auxiliary Bishop Gabino Zavala, 60, told the archdiocese in December that he was the father of two teenagers who live out of the state with their mother, the Associated Press reported.

Zavala submitted his resignation with the Vatican shortly thereafter. Under Catholic doctrine, priests must take a vow of celibacy.

Zavala filed his resignation under the code of canon law that allows bishops to apply for retirement before the age of 75 for medical purposes or for reasons making them unsuitable for their jobs, according to the AP.

Zavala grew up in L.A. and, after being ordained in 1977, was assigned to Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in East Los Angeles, according to the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. He was named rector of St. John's Seminary in 1992, and two years later, Cardinal Roger Mahony ordained him auxiliary bishop for the San Gabriel region.

The Vatican accepted the early resignation of the bishop Wednesday.

In addition, the archdiocese has offered spiritual guidance and financial support to help pay for the children's college costs, Los Angeles Archbishop Jose Gomez said in a letter posted to a blog.

// 3. Celibacy is historical. – Most people assume that the celibate priesthood is a convention introduced by the Church fairly late in history. On the contrary, there is evidence that even the earliest Church fathers, such as St. Augustine, St. Cyril, and St. Jerome, fully supported the celibate priesthood. The Spanish Council of Elvira (between 295 and 302) and the First Council of Aries (314), a kind of general council of the West, both enacted legislation forbidding all bishops, priests, and deacons to have conjugal relations with their wives on penalty of exclusion from the clergy. Even the wording of these documents suggests that the councils were not introducing a new rule but rather maintaining a previously established tradition. In 385, Pope Siricius issued the first papal decree on the subject, saying that "clerical continence" was a tradition reaching as far back as apostolic times. While later councils and popes would pass similar edicts, the definitive promulgation of the celibate, unmarried priesthood came at the Second Lateran Council in 1139 under Pope Gregory VII. Far from being a law forced upon the medieval priesthood, it was the acceptance of celibacy by priests centuries earlier that eventually led to its universal promulgation in the twelfth century. //

The first and most basic confusion is thinking of priestly celibacy as a dogma or doctrine -- a central and irreformable part of the faith, believed by Catholics to come from Jesus and the apostles. Thus some Fundamentalists make a great deal of a biblical reference to Peter's mother-in-law (Mark 1:30), apparently supposing that, if Catholics only knew that Peter had been married, they would be unable to regard him as the first pope. Again, Fundamentalist time lines of "Catholic inventions" (a popular literary form) assign "mandatory priestly celibacy" to this or that year in Church history, as if prior to this requirement the Church could not have been Catholic.

These Fundamentalists are often surprised to learn that even today celibacy is not the rule for all Catholic priests. In fact, for Eastern Rite Catholics, married priests are the norm, just as they are for Orthodox and Oriental Christians.

Even in the Eastern churches, though, there have always been some restrictions on marriage and ordination. Although married men may become priests, unmarried priests may not marry, and married priests, if widowed, may not remarry. Moreover, there is an ancient Eastern discipline of choosing bishops from the ranks of the celibate monks, so their bishops are all unmarried.

The tradition in the Western or Latin-Rite Church has been for priests as well as bishops to take vows of celibacy, a rule that has been firmly in place since the early Middle Ages. Even today, though, exceptions are made. For example, there are married Latin-Rite priests who are converts from Lutheranism and Episcopalianism.

As these variations and exceptions indicate, priestly celibacy is not an unchangeable dogma but a disciplinary rule. The fact that Peter was married is no more contrary to the Catholic faith than the fact that the pastor of the nearest Maronite Catholic church is married.

// "Not all can accept this word, but only those to whom it is granted. Some are incapable of marriage because they were born so; some, because they were made so by others; some, because they have renounced marriage for the sake of the kingdom of God. Whoever can accept this ought to accept it" (Matt. 19:11-12).

Notice that this sort of celibacy "for the sake of the kingdom" is a gift, a call that is not granted to all, or even most people, but is granted to some. Other people are called to marriage. It is true that too often individuals in both vocations fall short of the requirements of their state, but this does not diminish either vocation, nor does it mean that the individuals in question were "not really called" to that vocation. The sin of a priest doesn't necessarily prove that he never should have taken a vow of celibacy, any more than the sin of a married man or woman proves that he or she never should have gotten married. It is possible for us to fall short of our own true calling. //

• In many ways, Ray Liotta's character in Goodfellas is Thom's story, shoe-shine boy to drug dealer to enforcer. Thom was indicted 52 times, convicted 36 times, and the 52^nd indictment was for killing a guy in a bar fight. He came to Christ on his own, in solitary, on death row, on his 37^th birthday, while serving a 15 year prison term, while reading a stolen King James New Testament as a dyslexic. Broken externally and internally, grieving the crayon pictures his 12 kids mailed him saying "Daddy when are you coming home?," grieving his mother going blind yet crying herself to sleep each night praying "God, save my son." And, grieving the darkness of the only life he'd ever known. But, Jesus changed Thom's life.

• In August 2009, Thom's world was rocked when the youngest of his two step-daughters (Amber & Jamie) just 9 at the time and her older sister was 11, handed him a note that basically said, that the bad man was grandpa and he had been hurting them. They had been having a discussion about "no touch areas" and the "bad people" who hurt children, when the little girl ran into the kitchen and handed him the note and ran off. It ended up that grandpa had been raping them for years! He's now in prison. As a result, Thom is driven to expose the reality of child sexual abuse through his ministry kidstears.org, where he has a lot of free, downloadable resources.

• In October 2011, while on my show, Thom's adult daughter Rene tried to call in to the show to tell him she had been abused by a family member as a child, twenty years previously. Thom didn't know.

History:

In 2004, Vaughn Spethmann and Dustin McBride traveled with a team of fellow college students on a missions trip to Zambia. The people of Zambia quickly stole their hearts and opened their eyes to the difficult realities of poverty. Most of the population in Zambia suffers from the country's 50-80% unemployment status, while those fortunate enough to be employed are earning approximately $2 US a day.

During the team's last day in Zambia, Vaughn accompanied a newfound friend, Benjamin, on a bicycle ride. It was difficult for Vaughn to ignore the state of the bicycles around them. They had cracked frames, bent rims and seat posts, missing spokes and were covered in rust. Vaughn asked Benjamin how much his bike had cost, to which he replied, "Used, it was $200 US."

Upon Vaughn and Dustin's return to the States, they were unable to forget the plight of the people they had met in Zambia and wrestled with how to reconcile their mission's hearts with their business minds. With over a billion people worldwide lacking adequate access to transportation and most living in rural areas (like much of Zambia) cut off from markets, clinics and schools, the solution became more and more obvious: bicycles.

Bicycles would provide reliable transportation for people to get to work on time, enhance businesses, ensure medical workers could see patients and teachers and students could get to school. Setting up a bicycle company would also mean that employment opportunity, training and discipleship could happen.

The next problem: technical expertise. Vaughn and Dustin crossed paths with Daryl Funk, a bicycle engineer and all-around "bike guru" from Denver, Colorado. Alongside Vaughn and Dustin, Daryl traveled back to Zambia in 2007 to live in the community of Kampampa and establish a new bicycle company called Zambikes. The first container of 300 gorgeous red and blue bicycles was received that fall and assembled under the shade of a canopy attached to the side of the container.

In 2008, after spending their first year selling bikes and investing in the surrounding communities, Zambikes was able to purchase land in Kampampa, through the support of Akerfa, and began to construct an Assembly Facility under the direction of Jeffrey Robertson from San Diego, CA.

By God's grace and the unwavering drive to persevere in the midst of difficulty, Zambikes experienced exponential growth in its pursuit of sustainability. They gained credibility with Zambian heads of State, local and international press (including NPR and BBC) and the support of numerous nonprofits and NGOs (including World Vision, Catholic Relief Services, Charity: Water and more). By the beginning of 2010, a Caretaker's home and Community Center were completed on the Zambikes land, 2,500 bikes and 900 trailers had been distributed and new products had been developed. The Zambulance (bicycle ambulance trailer), Zamcart (cargo trailer) and new bamboo bicycles have set a new standard for solutions to transportation demands within Zambia and throughout the developing world.

But it's about more than a bike... Zambikes has been able to employ and mentor nearly 40 Zambikes team members, training them in management, bike assembly, fabrication and construction. Thousands of lives have then been impacted and saved through the use of the products they created. With the distribution of 750 ambulance trailers by the end of 2009, more than 50,000 lives will be saved in 2010.

The release of each Zambike, Zambulance and Zamcart provides people with access to healthcare, education and economic opportunities that had previously been inaccessible to them. That is the goal of a.ker.fa and its affiliates throughout Africa: to change lives by creating opportunities through reliable transportation.

But illiberals want religion out of the public square altogether. They want to reinterpret the First Amendment to deny religious freedom, not to protect it. They want to force religious people of all faiths to keep their religion in the closet, while at the same time enforcing the open acceptance -- indeed, encouragement -- of behaviors that conflict with traditional religious tenets. The illiberal religious bigots believe putting a creche on public property is unconstitutional; but displaying a crucifix in a in a tax-supported museum is just fine, just so long as it's stuck in a jar of urine.

Tim Tebow is not the problem. The real problem is our willingness to be bullied into thinking that prejudice masked as tolerance is acceptable.

Banks are guilty of "robo signing," foreclosing on families without actually holding the note, and profiting from "securitizing" the mortgages illegally.

458-508 – Bob Cornuke, the "Christian Indiana Jones," is President of the BASE Institute – the Bible Archaeology Search and Exploration Institute (baseinstitute.org) in Colorado Springs. He's a former police investigator, a CSI in Costa Mesa and SWAT team member who's been on over 30 expeditions around the world searching for lost locations described in the Bible – from the Ark of the Covenant, to Noah's Ark, to Paul's shipwreck on Malta, to the actual location of Mt. Sinai in Arabia. He's got a Ph.D. in Bible and Theology from Louisiana Baptist University – and he's even featured on a Trivial Pursuit card about Mt. Sinai! • Where is the real Mt. Sinai? Bob is confident it is not on the Sinai Peninsula, but actually in northwest Saudi Arabia, in the land of Midian. Why? Because Galatians 4:25 says Mt. Sinai is in Arabia, and many early church fathers cited the location in Arabia too. Even today, locals in the are refer to the mountain as Jabal Moussa, The Mountain of Moses. Atop this mountain, that many believe is a volcano, are rocks that are charred and burnt. But, they are not volcanic, but metamorphic – they're granite. Around the mountain are all kinds of confirming evidence, including altars, Hebrew artifacts, boundaries erected every 400 yards, etc. Perhaps most spectacularly, there is a 40' split rock beneath which a dry waterfall remains, displaying evidence of massive erosion washing away the mountain side – this in an area that gets about half-an-inch of water every 10 years! Bob "Sludge" Cornuke has recently been introduced to additional artifacts from the region, as of December 2011, including a photograph of a display of Egyptian gold jewelry with Hebrew inscriptions taken from the base of the mountain that allegedly was snapped in a Riyadh museum.

458-508 – Hunter Jameson, chairman of the Santa Monica Nativity Scenes Committee (santamonicanativityscenes.org), trying to save the 14-slot Nativity Story from an atheist takeover led by Damon Vix. There's a total of 21 spaces available, 14 of them have been used by churches for the past 57 years to display the Nativity Story. This year, Damon Vix and other atheists applied to use spots, so the city had to put them up in a random lottery. There were four winners, the churches, a synagogue, and two atheist groups. As a result, the churches' spots have been cut down from 14 to 3. The Jewish group got a slot for their menorah again. And the two atheists, who applied for 9 slots each, got them, and now these two atheists control 18 of the 21 available spaces – and to date, only three of the atheist spots have anything in them. So, the one-block long Nativity display gets cut down to 3 slots, and the atheists get 1¾ blocks to display their message, but only use three spots. This isn't about free speech, equal access, or tolerance – it's about censoring Christianity. Plus, Vix put up the same bogus quote from Jefferson he used last year, "Religions are all alike — founded on fables and mythologies," which the Jefferson Foundation rejects as authentic.
